GORDIY STARUKH is in Toronto for one night only - Ukrainian lirnyk, luthier and one-man band making a sound nobody else really does. Hurdy-gurdy, voice, synths and percussion. Old Ukrainian songs with enough electronics and rhythm to make the word "folk" slightly misleading.

KRYVA KOSA opens the night with village songs, crooked rhythms and enough folk to get us properly warmed up.

It also happens to be the last night of the Toronto Ukrainian Festival. So yes, this is the unofficial afterparty. Three days of Ukrainian everything and then down into the basement for a hurdy-gurdy and electronic set. Obviously.
