We’re embracing SVI’s retroness and bringing out some of our original décor from the 70s through 90s to set the scene for a nostalgic celebration of the old-new year. Gather with friends, old and new, for a night where jazz rhythms meet Ukrainian and retro sounds.
Enjoy a delicious dinner, live performances, an open bar, and a midnight table in a cozy, lively atmosphere. Dress to impress in Retro Canadian Formal or Retro Ukrainian Formal wear, you might just win an award for best outfit. Meet the MC:
A fixture in Toronto’s Ukrainian community, Johnny Moskalyk is often called on to MC charity events, banquets, business forums, festivals and joins SVI’s Malanka this year. Raconteur, bon-vivant and man about town, Johnny brings good humour and levity to any situation.

Tymish Koznarsky
Tymish Koznarsky is an award-winning jazz saxophonist hailing from Toronto, Canada. He frequently performs at the city’s top venues, such as the Jazz Bistro, the Rex Jazz and Blues Bar, and the Jazz Room, both as a sideman and bandleader of the Tymish Koznarsky Quintet.
Expect atmospheric jazz with a retro twist – think pieces form 70s.
Christmas Star
Christmas Star is a festive carol ensemble led by Nazar Lozynskyy, bringing together children and adults who share a love for music. Their joyful voices celebrate the spirit of the season and the beauty of intergenerational community singing.
Prut River Boys
The Prut River Boys, founded over thirty years ago by Myroslav Diakowsky, are a beloved four-part a cappella ensemble whose voices have accompanied countless community celebrations and commemorations.
