Within the 51st Toronto International Film Festival, a Ukrainian National Pavilion will be presented at TIFF: The Market 2026.
This year, TIFF is launching a full-scale international film market, TIFF: The Market, for the first time, significantly expanding the format of the festival's previous industry platform. It will bring together producers, distributors, international sales agents, content buyers, broadcasters, streaming platforms, financiers, and representatives of film funds.
The Ukrainian National Pavilion will operate from September 10 to 16, 2026.
At the pavilion, visitors will be able to:
get information about contemporary Ukrainian cinema, current films and projects, as well as opportunities for the Ukrainian film industry and international cooperation;
view informational materials and trailers of Ukrainian films;
take part in professional meetings and presentations by Ukrainian filmmakers for international partners.
Ukrainian producers and film companies can provide their trailers and informational materials for presentation at the national pavilion, including in cases where project representatives are unable to attend Toronto in person.
This year, TIFF will host world premieres of three films connected to Ukraine:
A documentary produced by Ukraine and the US, directed by James Marcus Haney, in the TIFF Docs program.
A Canada-Ukraine co-production directed by David Bezmozgis, in the Centrepiece program.
A short documentary produced by the Netherlands and Ukraine, directed by Maria Ponomaryova.
A separate highlight of the Ukrainian presence at TIFF 2026 will be a special reception for festival and market participants, organized by the NGO Nareshti together with its Canadian partner, the St. Volodymyr Institute in Toronto.
The Ukrainian National Pavilion is organized by the NGO Nareshti with support from the State Film Agency of Ukraine, in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture.
The Ukrainian pavilion at TIFF was first organized in 2017. Since then, it has become an important platform for promoting Ukrainian film art and the film industry in North America, fostering international cooperation and expanding professional contacts.
