The Role of Ukrainian Museums, Libraries and Archives in Cultural Preservation

Experts from the SVI Library, the Ukrainian Museum of Canada - Ontario Branch, and the Ukrainian Canadian Research and Documentation Centre get together underground to talk about how librarians, archivists and curators are fighting to preserve Ukraine's cultural heritage - and why that matters more than ever.

Anastasia Baczynskyj holds a Master's Degree from the University of Toronto with a specialization in Ukrainian Canadian History. Served in leadership roles in the Ukrainian community in Toronto for over 20 years. SVI's current librarian and print culture advocate.

Roman Waschuk is a former ambassador to Ukraine from Canada. Recovering lapsed historian and archives enthusiast.

Marta Bozdek has a keen interest in Ukrainian cultural heritage artifacts and museum collections management. Started as a volunteer at UMCO and eventually joined the UMCO board in order to help grow and sustain our Museum’s mission, which is to collect, preserve, celebrate, and share Ukrainian cultural heritage.
