In Conversation: Lesia Maruschak on her artist's book TRANSLATIONS 19,54

Join us at the Fisher Library for a thoughtful conversation with Ukrainian Canadian artist Lesia Maruschak as she presents her artist’s book TRANSLATIONS 19,546, VOL.I to the library.

A testimony-based artist's book, TRANSLATIONS 19,546 addresses the ongoing trauma of Ukrainian children who have been deported and/or forcibly displaced since February 2022 in the context of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine. The work situates these events within a longer continuum of genocidal violence, including the Ukrainian famine-genocide of 1932-33 known as the Holodomor.
