Call for Submissions: HOPE Art Exhibit

February 22, 2026 marks four years since the start of russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. This exhibition is organized to mark that moment and to affirm that solidarity continues and attention has not faded.

SVI invites artists to submit work for a juried exhibition to be presented in our SVI Art Gallery. We are seeking artworks that reflect on hope—not as an abstract idea, but as something that keeps people going, carried through daily life, memory, and creative practice. Art, in this context, becomes a way of holding, expressing, and sharing that hope.

Artworks must be ready to hang or suitable for 24" wide poster hangers. All works must be flat. Eligible media include photography, graphic design, printmaking, drawing, painting, and textiles.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

• Theme:
  Submissions should reflect on hope in the context of ongoing war, displacement, and solidarity with Ukraine. Hope may be expressed quietly or directly, personally or collectively. We welcome works that consider how hope sustains people, shapes memory, and continues through creative practice.

• Medium:
  Flat works only, including photography, graphic design, printmaking, drawing, painting, and textiles.

• Display Requirements:
  Artworks must be ready to hang or suitable for 24" wide poster hangers. All works must be flat.

• Eligibility:
  Open to artists of all backgrounds and career stages who can provide ready to hang artwork by February 20.

• Selection Process:
  All submissions will be reviewed by a jury. Final selections will be made at the jury's discretion, and all decisions are final.

• Sales (Optional):
  Artists may choose whether or not to make their work available for sale. There is no obligation to sell work as part of this exhibition.

• For works that are sold, SVI will apply a 30% commission. All proceeds from commissions directly support community-focused and accessible programming at SVI.*

• Key Dates:
  Submission deadline: February 15, 2026
  Selected artists notified: February 18, 2026
  Bring artworks by February 20, 2026
  Exhibition dates: February 22, 2026 - March 28th, 2026
